Sunday Steals

I'm linking up with Kelley for part 2 of Rockin'Resources- Things I couldn't live without!

Just got home from shopping. Of course it was ALL for my classroom! Am I the only one who just uses TICONDEROGA pencils? I am such a pencil snob. Well, these are the best pencils on the market. I found that they are much cheaper unsharpened. Target has a 24 pack for $3.99

I love using flexible plastic 3 ring binders and my favorite are from Office Max. They keep my students very organized.

Love labeling everything! Lately, I've just been using cardstock and packing tape.

Need a different animal/theme/color? I love doing custom work.

These little recorders are awesome! I use them at my stations so my students can play back the instructions. No more repeating myself over and over. I also use them as a way to congratulate a student.
I may record " Congrats! You made a 100 on your spelling test!" and leave it at their seat.

  11. Great deals!

Not sure if this counts as a school supply, but it IS for school and you WOULD use it all the time...an Erin Condren binder?

  12. I'm a pencil snob, too! I will only use Ticonderoga pencils and they have to be super sharp. Now, my older boys are addicted to them and our pencil spending is out of control - glad to hear there's a sale!

  13. I think SHARPIES are your favorite school supply. I love 'em! ;) I, too, am a pencil snob. I do not buy Ticonderogas for my students because they sharpen their pencils down to nubs, but I get the Ticonderoga Tri-Writes for myself. I also recommend them to parents whose students are having a hard time writing. The triangular shape of the pencil just makes it sooo much easier to write! I'm a lefty and my first grade teacher spanked my hand repeatedly trying to get me to change the way I hold my hand. My pencil grip is fine, but my mom got me a notebook with three rings when I was 3. There's just no changing it after 3 years of reinforcement. For me, Ticonderoga Tri-Writes take some of the pressure out of writing. :)

  16. I only use Ticonderoga pencils too. For me, it's about the fact that they are latex free. When kids sneak in other pencils, I get hives. I buy them at Costco. I'm going to guess one of my favorites: Mr. Sketch markers?

  17. I'll give you all a hint. It's nothing fun but very useful!!! I've seen a pin going around saying it's a poor teacher's laminator.

  18. My guess is contact paper! I love it when you are in a pinch and the laminator is broken!

  19. Just found your blog and I love it. You have to check out Staples penny deals. I just got crayons, glue and pens for a penny last week. This week it is legal pads and tab dividers. Hopefully more to come soon! The poor teacher's laminator has to be clear packing tape. Use it all the time since my laminator frequently breaks just when I need it. Gotta love when your addiction to pinterest helps you out. =)

  21. I will go with clear packing tape, too, since that's what I use to put the labels on our folders with!

Here's another thing I use often since I am cheap: clear pocket folders. They are sealed on two sides, so I just put in a sheet of paper and the kids use their whiteboard markers on them. Works great when you want everyone to play/do something but don't want 25 laminated sheets at the end of it.

(Can you tell I really love these labels?)

  23. I love #5, the little recorders! Where did you get them? This is my new MUST FIND item because I've never seen anything else like them and can think of a bunch of uses for them...I'm so excited!

  24. Miss Nelson, I've already been a follower of yours for a while, but may I just say: I LOVE your idea about how to use those little recorders. I got them as a present for my birthday on May 27th and I was thinking of using them for sequencing nursery rhymes. But now you've really opened my mind to more possibilities. Thank you!

If you have a second, stop by my blog. I would truly appreciate it. :)
