Monday Made It

Where did my summer go? I can not believe that I will be going back in less than 15 days. YIKES it went by way too fast. I'm usually great about Monday Made Its but not this summer unless you count photographs. My summer has consisted of family beach sessions most nights. I'm not complaining because photography allows me to be creative. My husband loves it too because I'm not taking over the dinning room table with crafts. HA!

Today I'm joining Tara over at 4th Grade Frolics for Monday Made It! I can't wait to see the other ideas because I actually have a few free days this week.

My first Monday Made It were these " The Buzz about Me" bags that I will be passing out at orientation. I love this first homework assignment that I assign for my first graders. It's a fun way to get to know my students. I usually have about 5 students share each day during the first week of school. The bags were only .62 cents at Target so I just had to snag them up. I have never really had classroom jobs because I pick one student helper for the day instead. Last year I started using bee bucks. I got to the point where I wanted to pass out bee bucks for little jobs around the classroom. This year I'm going to try classroom jobs. Do you have them? Like them or Hate them? I hope it won't be too much to manage.
Aren't these bee bucks adorable? You can find my bee job chart and bee bucks right here. They will be free for Monday only.

This is a free product I made years ago. I just added some real life examples underneath.

Do your students have to track their learning on a progression scale or self assessment tool? This is currently how I will be having my students rate themselves with various standards and skills. It's also a free download here. The sticks have my free insta-sticks that I use  in many different ways in my classroom. They are great for calling on students, labeling cubbies, check-in magnets, AR trackers. etc.

My last Monday Made It I designed and ordered from Paper Concierge. I love that when I get to the bottom of the notepad I usually find a 40 % off coupon. I love fun notepads. How about you?

I've missed this fun linky. Thanks again Tara for hosting such a great linky.

  1. I can't wait for us to be able to get into our rooms so we can do a Periscope of your classroom and bee stuff. I can't pick out which is my favorite of your made-its this week. I love them all BEE-cause they are so cute and you made them!

  2. Those Bee Bucks are so stinking cute!!! Loved all your Monday Made It projects!

  3. I always look forward to your Made-Its! Everything you make is beautiful!

  4. The bee theme is super cute. And thanks for the freebie writer's sign packs. Also super cute. See you around. Kathleen Kidpeople Classroom

  6. You have been so busy it looks like! And I would take photographing and hanging out at the beach with family any day! Good for you! I do have classroom jobs where students apply to jobs and then I assign them one for the entire trimester- they get really good at it and my classroom nearly runs without me in terms of all those little things. It's worked great for me! And I NEED that "Writer's Eye" resource. We still struggle in 3rd grade with these basics. Thanks for sharing and enjoy the rest of your summer! :)

  7. Wow! What can I say, but that you have incredibley inspired me! Love your work and the assessment board is awesome. Thank you for the ideas!

  8. I have a class economy system as well and pay for our class jobs. I usually forget to pay the kids, but they are VERY good at reminding me! Then I just shift the clothes pins up the job chart. The kids look forward to specific jobs, so I think your kiddos will love it as well!

    Everything turned out so nice!

  9. What a smart way to do self assessment! I despise wasting sticky notes/index cards and I honestly don't always remember to check where the kids placed themselves on the continuum. But your popsicle sticks with numbers (not names) is INCREDIBLY smart! Thank you for the inspiration, off to go make myself a set!

  10. Love the Buzz About Me bag idea- and I will have to look into Paper Concierge.

  11. I absolutely love your classroom theme of bees!

  12. Okay... I normally hate bees, but they are SO CUTE in your classroom! It looks amazing!

  13. I love all of your projects. The Buzz about me bags are such a great way to get to know your kids. I am no longer a classroom teacher (push-in ESL teacher instead) so I'm super jealous of your bboards!
