GOOD BAG for KIDS -nutrition to go!

Let's face it ....words hurt.  When I was little I used food as a crutch. I was teased from being overweight and it stung. I don't want any of my own students to ever feel like an outcast. I'm speaking up about being role models to students. 

This year I'm committing to getting as healthy as I can and being a role model for my students. Do you  set good habits for your students and own children? I'm not a mom just yet but I do know the importance of setting a good example. Lately, I've been so busy and I've been eating junk. It's all stopping TODAY. It's going to be hard but I need to get it under control.

I get it...today's families are busy and always on the go - unfortunately kids need to snack 4-5 times/day and convenient food is often devoid of nutrition. I've found an amazing product that I'm so happy to share with you.

  2. I have recently lost 50 lbs and it is important for my students to know about my journey and my healthy lifestyle. I eat regularly (fruit and veggies) through out the day in my classroom. SInce my kids see me eat, I allow them to eat as well but it has to come from the earth! Also, during recess, if they come show me a snack that is healthy, I give them extra credit. I am trying to detour them from the traditional bag of hot cheetos that most of the kids bring!

  5. I love squeezable applesauce, especially the SpongeBob kind that is banana flavored. May not sound appealing, but it tastes like banana baby food to me which I enjoy.
    I also like bananas or oranges, plus occasionally apple slices with almond or cashew butter.

  7. I can absolutely relate to quick yummy snacks that aren't super healthy - I love them... But yesterday my friend told me that frozen grapes are delicious? Have you tried those? I'm going to.

    1. Frozen grapes are delicious. Wash and take them off the stem, put on a cookie sheet or a pan with a rim (they roll) stick them in the freezer for 2-3 hours then store in a freezer bag. Do not thaw, eat them frozen, they are not rock hard when frozen, just delicious!

  9. I am actually quite healthy when school is going on, but something about summer makes me go crazy. I think I crave schedule and I don't really have that during summer, so working out goes out the window, and then the eating follows.

    I love these bags -- I looked at the ingredients and there are a lot of things that I give my two year old daughter!

    I would have to say my favorite snack is grapes and strawberries. I measure them out and have little baggies ready to grab from the refrigerator.

  10. WOW I LOVE this post... I LOVE that video... it would be so cool to get the lyrics of that song and have them read it as a poem and then after dissecting it and making inferences you could play the music to it... I think they would like it!!! I LOVE IT!!! thanks so much for sharing this :)

  11. One of my favorite snacks are Fiber One snacks. Brownies, bars... it doesn't matter. They are all good.

  12. Do pistachios count as a healthy snack? Because I absolutely ADORE pistachios...I like food that I have to work hard to enjoy. Laughing Cow cheeses are also a favorite. My kids love Jammy Sammies and Buddy Fruits...I know they'd love a Good Bag! Thanks for the opportunity!
