Clutter Control

Ya'll.... I have to let you in on a little secret. I'm not the most organized person. Instead of putting away my items each day ... I let them build up.

Then I have a complete mess but I kinda like it this way. I like having all of my clutter on display. I'm the most creative when I have piles of stuff around me. My friends want to cringe when they see my piles. Anyone else like clutter like me? I think it runs on my mom's side of the family. My sisters are the complete opposite.

Well.... my jewelry was getting out of hand. It was out of control so I decided I needed to de-clutter and organize.

So I made this...

I went shopping Monday for a cute necklace holder but had no luck whatsoever. Not sure how you spell that?  I needed something for my really long necklaces. I decided that I could easily make my own necklace holder. I'm thinking of making one for my classroom to hold the behavior beads. Of course it would have some fun fabric...
What do you need?
Frame
Foam Board
Fabric
Hot Glue
Pins
I found these frames at Hobby Lobby. They were already unfinished ( without glass etc) Since I like clutter... of course I had some extra foam board in my garage and tons of fabric in my guest bedroom.  I cut the foam board, wrapped it in some heavy fabric and hot glued the fabric down on the edges. I added little pins to hold the necklaces.

VERY EASY! I can't wait to link up Monday for my classroom Monday Made it.
Here is a sneak preview.

P.S.
I've been in Common Core Meetings this week so I promise to blog about all of the giveaway winners on Friday! I also have tons of behavior beads I'm customizing so please be patient with me. I'm working as fast as I can!

  1. "Like a museum"...lol! You better watch out, Mr. Nelson is going to start auctionin' stuff off to the highest bidder..."like an estate sale". I need to go shoppin' in your garage; I bet it is a crafter's paradise! Love the necklace holder by the way!

  2. Yes! This is the excuse I've been needing! I just let everything pile on my desk, so I guess that's better than having an empty mind, right?;) Love those necklace holders...very inspiring!

  5. I am the same way! I know where everything is in the clutter and if you move it around I am lost! The museum e-card is perfect! Love it!

  6. I am exactly the same. I have piles everywhere, but I usually know which pile stuff is in. Just don't touch my piles! My favorite quote: "Organized people are just too lazy to look for stuff!" Yeah - I'm not lazy, lol! Glad to hear I'm not the only one!
